Thousands can't figure out just what they did, just what they, just what they did...

Gail asked Raine about the first song he ever wrote for OLP. He claimed to not be able to remember but Jeremy said it was a song about Planets. Raine looked kinda embarassed and still claimed not to remember but Jer went on and on about how excited Raine was about the song when he brought it to the guys so Raine finally said "I guess everything sounds like a good idea when you're high."
“Music doesn’t have the power to change the world. What music does is it changes people, & that changes the world, so to say that music doesn’t change people anymore is just ridiculous. It does everyday. It doesn’t have to be on a political or social level. You could be feeling shitty & it makes you happy & if that’s all it does, it’s changing the world. It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida

LMAO.

Apparently Raine plays the "it was so long ago, I don't remember" card a lot with fans.

Based on the extracurricular activites of his youthful days I can see why maybe he'd have some trouble remembering things like, oh, let's say, the past and I don't know..... maybe the lyrics to his own songs.... :P

ok. For the longest I always wondered if the first song Raine ever wrote in OLP was ever recorded. We have no idea knowing if what we hear now is new or old reworked. I am sure he has songs written never recorded.

He said it was a song called Planets. I wish to god I taped that one on digital but would look rude taping Raine as he is speaking to you..

anyway he started to talk about it then Jer jumped in saying it was not working for the band etc. Raine mentioned that you write lots of stuff when high. They then mentioned shortly afterwards Superman's Dead was written or some of it turned into it or something like that. Which surprised me that the first song he claimed he wrote for OLP was duing the recording of CLUMSY..

COnfusing to me since Naveed came out first.. Unless Raine meant tthat they tried to record it during the Clumsy Sessions which would explain the SUperman's Dead remark.

YOu did not give the whole account on what was said..

Raine did remember the song. Jer jumped in to say elaborate in his unique way of doing things. Probably exaggerated a bit who knows. YOu know how Jer can be at times.
