Raine / Chantal Massey Hall Sat Feb 24, 2007

Thousands can't figure out just what they did, just what they, just what they did...

Postby xjsb125 » 2/27/2007, 7:41 am

We had a great time over the weekend. Pretty cold for those of us who live down south. At our pre-concert dinner meetup we had about 25 people come to Mr. Green Jeans in Eaton Centre for dinner. The concert itself was very good. Raine played a newish song called Yellow Brick Road (not the Elton John song) that could definitely be a big radio hit I think. Chantal was amazing. Her voice just seemed to fill Massey Hall. Rowan and Lucca both came out to sing at one point. Cute kids. The drive home was horrid. Heather, Nikki, Melissa, and myself had to drive through all the heavy snow that fell in Eastern Pennsylvania, so it took forever to get across the state. There were probably 6 inches of snow on the highways, which is a lot to me, but I somehow got us home safe. Otherwise, a very fun trip! :)

I definitely agree with Matt - it was a wonderful weekend :) I didn't take any pictures this time around (I know, I'm dumb), so they'll have to come from others.

*And does anyone care if I save any of them once they're posted? LOLZ*

I wished I could had enjoyed Raine more.
There were alot of people still comming in up in the balcony. Plus me and Megan wern't sitting in our own seats so anytime a ushers light lit up near us we were paranoid to look and see if they were after the seats we were in.

Once Raine was finished we got kicked out and no one wanted to swap their balcony seat with a floor seat.

So Megan took my floor seat and I was content with the balcony seat.

I wish I could had sat more torwards the center to get a fuller sound. Nonetheless Chantals voice was fantastic.

This was my first time seeing her live.
I just may be tempted to check her out again when/if she comes stateside

Your seat was definitely better than mine LOL I wish we could have sat together though, she was singing such mushy songs and I was all "Aww Brian's not next to me *pout*"

Haha.

Here are some pics from the show. I tried to lighten them up a bit since all of them are were kinda dark (the head of the lil blonde girl in front of me kept eating up all the light from my flash....)

Who's the better singing poet?

Maida or Dylan?

I've never heard Dylan sing. So I'm going with Maida.

Raine's a better singer, but Bob Dylan is legendary for his writing. He's the most covered artist in history.

I believe you are thinking of Jimi Hendrix.

Mr. Tambourine Man is the only Dylan song that they have played that I can think of. I believe they played it mixed in with Clumsy last year.
