Ottawa May 16th - Who went and how was it?

Postby think_about_it » 5/17/2006, 6:34 am

Morning All,

Did anyone on here get to go to the Ottawa concert last night?

I missed it but was wondering how it went and if anyone has any pictures?

Hey,

Ya I went and it was amazing!!!! first of all I had front row along with anyone else who even bothered to come near the front...I was supposed to have third row, but instead the usher placed me in the empty 2nd row where I stayed for the whole night....was it just me or did it seem to be kind of empty in scotiabank place??

The band was on fire tonight, and it was such an awesome atmosphere...being the last show on the tour, all 3 bands were goofing around and just having so much fun...highlights include:

- Raine coming out in a monkey suit (or was that Jer?) during Liar with NWL
- Jer coming out in a monkey suit for the last song
- guy from Jets Overhead coming out in only a loin cloth contraption during an OLP song ( I forget which one...but he was naked!)
- Raine walking through the entire crowd saying he needed to 'touch' everyone...and then bringing the ppl with less good seats on steve's side on stage...but Raine didnt just go to one side...like he started on duncans side and walked ALL the way around the stadium until he was on Steve's side..
- HOPE - nuff said.
- Starseed when all the bands came out and jammed - absoultely amazing..daniel victor and raine and co were singing, pouring beer on each other, wrestling, etc...haha
- OLP jamming with Jets Overhead on their last song.
- I met Joel on the way in, and he was like "you missed my band!!"...haha, I know but I had to work! he was very nice and remembered me from London
- uhhhhhhhhh the whole show? honestly it was incredible...Raine grabbed signs that these two girls has made that said "MAKE LOVE, NOT WAR" and put them on the drum kit....
- steve was awesome, kept smilng at all of us rocking out!

Great Show - they played a pretty standard setlst including (not in order):

Naveed
clumsy
4am
supermans dead
one man army
HOPE
somewhere out there
where are you
wipe that smile off your face
in repair
kiss on the mouth
boy
will the future blame us
angels losing sleep
walking in circles
starseed
somewhere out there
innocent

and probably a few others I'm forgetting...but you get the picture

xoxo,
alana

Wait.

Raine and Daniel Victor had a naked wrestling match and Joel watched from the side?!

I thought that sort of thing only happened in my dreams...

THIS SHOW WAS AMAZING...way superior to montreal. Also, some senators (from the hockey team of course) was on stage during starseed, Ray Emery was one of them.

Also, I heard an interview on the radio with Raine and Jer, A funny question was: what is your weirdest food combination ??

Jer said: Watermelon sprinkle with hot peppers. Then they've asked how does that come down in the stomach, he answered he's adding some chili gravy maybe???

Ya the naked mud wrestling with raine and daniel victor was quite exciting ...you're telling me they didnt do that at the other shows? for shame! haha but in all reality we did get some nakedness with adam from Jets Overhead!

..and ya I totally forgot about seeing the Senators on stage at the end...for sure Emery (goalie) was there and a few others, but I'm not a huge hockey fan so I couldn't tell you who! The flying UFO was hilarious too...

Crustine: no I didn't meet anyone from the CM, although I did recognize Gail in the front row and on the bus afterwards...where were you sitting? I was on Steve's side, second row....right beside where the two girls with the signs came running up...I was the blonde with a black shirt. haha...

Chris or normal human being in a monkey suit? we'll never know!

but I digress...what a show!
