Juno Awards 2006 HALIFAX!!!

Thousands can't figure out just what they did, just what they, just what they did...

Postby Random Name » 4/2/2006, 7:02 pm

I was fairly impressed with it though.
Buck 65 was amazing. Colyplay did a really good job and all the shitty acts like BEP and Masarri stunk up the place. Hedly did a good job at the end. All the awards were pretty predictable. And Broken Social Scene made a splash. Preforming and then accepting while drinking. Thats Canadian music for ya.

Here are the winners... a bad list cuz it has all the nominees and the winners are marked in small bold text, but it's hard to see at a quick glance who won the award and how many awards were won by each artist.

Are you still talking about Pam Anderson? She was on for less time than most preformers. Move on people.

agreed completely. i frigging loved buck 65 during that entire show....

it's quite pathetic because BEP and Coldplay totally shadowed the canadian artists/bands...

i was surprised to see Arcade Fire win the songwriter award, i didn't think they would get it.

aaaaand the Broken Social Scene performance was awesome. i couldn't believe they televised the Best Alternative Album award!... they've never done that before, as Kevin said. that award was the only one i was really looking forward to, i was jumping up and down and crossing my fingers. my sister couldn't believe how many members there were in BSS, she asked me "who are all those people?" when they came up to accept the award. im so happy they won again (they won the same juno for their last album You Forgot It In People). :nana:

all in all, it was pretty usual except the pamela anderson bits (which were extra sucky).

also, did anyone else think it was stupid of them to let Chris Martin induct Bryan Adams into the canadian rock 'n' roll hall of fame? :freak: i mean, it should have been a canadian.

i thought most of the performances were pretty shitty. massari was painful... he was singing on top of his recorded track, except he never matched. ew.

bedouin's performance was okay but not much else... it seems like last year's performances were so much better (i loved k-os' performance last year, as well as feist's.)

BEP was so arrogant i wanted to shoot them.

and how did michael buble win all of the fattest awards? best single, best artist, best album... plus another one that i can't remember, probably best pop album. sheesh!

No OLPness!!

although I booed when Nickelback were getting nominated/won awards. I think I was the only one booing!! ...sheesh, all these girls behind me were screaming when they were getting nominated/won awards. Most people are brainwashed to the mainstream!!

OLP should've won best rock album of the year, not fucking Nickelback. But to be honest, their performance was quite good. I enjoyed it. I'll give them props for that. But overall, they stink like a poopsicle!

I tried spotting out Stevrr and Jeremy. But I couldn't find them anywhere. On my side of the metro centre, there were Michael Buble, Bryan Adams (Which gave me a HIGH FIVE and he grasped my hand while doing it! :nana: ), Massari, Great Big Sea, Simple Plan, and yadda yadda yadda. I couldn't seem to find the OLPness anywhere!! ....Gillian and mine's assumption was, "Jer's probably backstage getting drunk" ...because they were showing the red carpet preview at the metro centre before the show and the etalk daily host Ben Mulroney was talking to Steve and Jer. When Mulroney asked Jer what's the best part about being at the Juno's Jer said, "It's all about the free Beer. more beer! more beer! more beer!" .... :jer:

Also there were these TWO ANNOYING people in front of us who had obsessive compulsiveness when it came to their camera and taking pictures. I mean these were two people that kept on getting up in front of me and Gillian and taking pictures either in front of us or behind us. It was fucking annoying the hell outta me that it came to the point when I said, "Holy fuck! When will they stop taking pictures?!" and "I think they are a tad bit obsessive compulsive when it comes to taking pictures" ...ahaha the woman just gave me a dirty look. I mean i don't care! ...It was getting on my freaking nerves because the flash was going left, right and centre and up the ying yang! Holy Cow!

Overall, Coldplay are AWESOME live. I wanna see them again. Also, Gillian met one of the guys from she's in love with from BEP(tallest guy/guy with dreadlocks), she got all nervous as the first time he passed by. But when the second time he passed by Gillian said, I have to talk to him and said, "I've been in love with you ever since I was small." and he smiled at her and said, "Oh yeah?!" and then left because they were getting ready to perform. Then a few seconds later I got scoped out by the girl from BEP, she just walked by and smiled at me, Gillian noticed it. I was like! SWEET!! HOT CHICK FROM BEP checked me out :D :nana:  ...I love being hot!!

Black Eyed Peas
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.
