Queens Of The Stone Age-Someone's In The Wolf

Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
What's behind them...

So glad you could stay
Forever

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
There's blood on the blade
Don't take his hand

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
He's creeping too..

So glad you could stay
Forever

Nikki if I keep going the way I was I could be there by end of the HIPT Tour... This was my last year of multiple shows.. I want other things in life.. that is why some shows on this tour meant alot to me. Not sure if going to any shows next year yet.. I joke around with one of my friends that I am sending OLP's kids through college. I am too afraid to figure out how much money I spent over the years.

Crustine-you are a little older then me. WOW. Glad to see someone about my age love the band, and not because of their kids.. It took awhile to get use to being this age, but now I love it. I think I was born at a good time and got to see some pretty amazing things in my life... I use to call the younger OLP fans my olp kids. they are all in college now-or about to graduate.  they grow so fast.. It seems like only yesterday they were only 15, 16.. Now they are in their early 20's..I am so proud of them.

As for shows I have been to well over 1000 in my life. NO joke. I have probalbably seen close to 2000 artist form local people to huge stadium shows. I volunteered for this one agency that worked out of shows. I was working 3 shows a week for months on end. I think I did 200 shows for them. I just love shows.. It is odd but people think I work for security or bands.. I am lucky cause over the years I have befriended security people, managers and bands( not necessarily huge chart toppers, but people who perform just the same). You can't live in NYC area and not have a friend who plays in aband..  too bad I couldn't get paid for attending shows.. Plus the fact that shows were so much cheaper when I was a teen and in my 20's. What you pay in parking and service charges I us eto pay to see a concert.

You all know I am a huge U2 fan. Now you pay anywhere from $65-$170 to see them. First time I saw U2 I paid a big $11.00..

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

Wow Gail I am impressed 2000!! I guess I never really thought about this but I did work in a bar where we had live music every night (before bars were open on Sundays) and worked 3 nights a week for 3 years so that is 52x3x3=468..this being in my head so that is over 500 eeks. I was referring to stadium shows and yes going to concerts is way toooo expensive.

I wanted to see coldplay but the $70 was a bit steep and I realllly wanted to catch DMB with my son but it was going to be over $200 for the two of us. Ah for the days of $11 concerts.
The first time I saw the Grateful Dead in Rochester it was 11 bucks. Oh how times have changed. At least OLP hasn't been that much.

Wow you are lucky to see U2. I cant seem to get tickets no matter how hard i try, they sell out in minutes. Oh how i miss mail order tickets from GD. It was always such a surprise when you recieved your tickets and they were special printed tickets with various band logos.

I am hoping to see Jane Sibery at the end of January and the Indigo girls in Feb and of course i am keeping my fingers crossed that OLP will be playing more shows in the new year.

As for liking OLP, my son always points out that the first two CD's i bought him were Clumsy and under the table and dreaming....He figures i have good taste after all.

I still love it when my tickets arrive and they're not the standard ticketmaster/ticketweb ones. There's one promoter here that always does nice tickets, and then you get the special ones for the big tours like U2 and REM with band photos and things on them.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

Haha Open on SUnday nights. I remember that. My friend and I use to go to this bar/club every Friday and Saturday between 18-2 years of age. We saw bands there. We saw Metallica back then.

I got lucky with Coldplay this year. Night before their show I went on line and got a ticket for aboput $40.. Obstructive view. okay. here was my obstruction. The band on stage. The section I was in-front row( my seat) was right on stage. We had best seats in the house. If we were one section over the same ticket would of cost about $80.00.. I lucked out there. Actually I luck out alot in shows. Learned how to work the system over th eyears. They hold back tickets for arena shows here( usually guest list seats and such) they toss them back into the system so alot of tiems a few days before the show or day of you can get really good seats.. My friends and I don't do early sales anymore.. we wait till the show .

as for shows. I remember paying $7.00 for a show. They had the pier shows in NYC during the summer.. As for OLP-cheapest was Free-most expensive was about $50.00( they were the support act)

I tell people this all the time about U2-yet they never seem to believe me. the band holds tickets for all shows. THey release them the day of the show through box office. You have to be willing to wait or have someone wait for you.. I got tickets for shows like that on both this and last tour like that. Alot of U2 fans will tell you this. How else do you think they go to shows. I met people who went to about 30 shows on this tour. WOW. Most I ever saw any band on one tour was OLP..

I remeber when you could go to box office day of sales to get tickets. Not now.. YOu have to do ticketmaster and with perfessional scalpers out ther enow you don't get good seats anymore.

I know OLP are suppose to do a Canadian tour sometime in the New Year and there was talk of Europe. other then that don;t know where they are playing. good lcuk with Indigo girls

MY next show is Secret Machines for a Katrina benefit and David Usher in a bar in NYC. he actually has atip bucket.. LOL.

Thats funny about Dave opps sorry David Usher. He is after all from Kingston so yes I know him. Knew his friend Kevin (of Moist fame) better. But alas that was years ago.

Didn't know about the same day sales. I thought that went out with vinyl. We used to go to GD shows without tickets as that was the norm and there were always tickets to be had. As we got older or had larger groups or when it got to be a pain to cross the boarder we resorted to having tickets before the show. As a result I got out of the habit. I will definitely take that under advisement.

Love the coldplay story. How much fun was that? Nothing like a good side stage ticket. You can basically be on top of the band .

Thanks for all the tips!

Dave lives in the East Village( nyc) now. He played this bar there in Oct. He is playing again in a few days.. He said on his site he will playu once a month around his neighborhood. Yeah for us NY fans. I never saw him till recently, but love him.. Kevin is still with him.. I can say hi to you for him..

Yeah it was cool for me with coldplay, I didnt; see them last time. I was amazed cause the last time I saw them was a small venue right around the time YELLOW was getting lots of airplay. I can't believe how huge they got.. It was interesting to see them like that. We were on Jonny's side. He was maybe about 50 feet from us..

I think cause of our age we lucked out with shows .. I remember those days also where there was always a ticket to be had.. .. I miss those days sometimes..
