Not seeing a lot of chat about this. OLP is opening for Bush and Live during a US tour. I believe you can pre-purchase tickets right now with the promo code: altimate

Hoping to cat h at least one show. Places I can get to don't really line up with my life schedule but you never know. I'd anticipate OLP getting 45-50 minutes. Can't go wrong with Bush. I've seen them live 4 times now and have never ever been disappointed.

I'm thinking I'm going to try and make the show in Concord,Ca. Probably buy the tix closer to the event, because Ohana Fest destroyed my wallet. Also I do not like Live. I'm indifferent to Bush but Matt says they're a good show so that's a positive.

I think it's a little weird OLP is opening. Not to say that they should be headlining. It's just that since I've been a fan of the band (2009) I can't really remember them opening for other artists on a bigger US tour like this. Is it just a matter of timing circumstances, reduced touring in general, or just not wanting to open for other acts? If playing in the states more is even a priority for the guys.

It's been a long time since they pulled the curtain on a major US tour. In 2003 they were second bill for 3 Doors Down, but Shinedown opened those shows. I think it's just a good opportunity to get out to some cities they might not get to normally, and get some exposure as well. Touring the US is normally done at a financial loss for them, so this could help soften that financial burden.

I've got tickets to the last show of the tour in Rochester Hills, MI just north of Detroit. There's a good chance I might go to a couple of other shows near me.

I'll be hitting up New Orleans, Concord, and Tuolumne. None of which are remotely close to me as I'm from Canada but OLP is my excuse to travel. Really wish they weren't just opening, but I'll take that over nothing!

Saw the KS MO Show. Show started at 7, but I exited my car at 6:58 and could hear the bank kicking the show off with Drop me in the water from the parking lot. Got to my seats before that track ended. I gotta say, I've seen OLP 3 times in the last decade, and each time Raine's vocals performance was better than the prior. I think that's impressive and uncommon. A little sad it started early, and was only a 30 minute set, but otherwise it was great. I imagine that's just the luck of being the opening act.

Drop Me in the Water - Started 2 minutes early, boo

Innocent - Notice Raine did the octave higher "One day, you're gonna stand up on your own" lyric. Last 2 shows I was at he dropped into a lower octave and basically spoke those lines. Was nice to see and hear the energy.

Superman's Dead

Somewhere Out There

Clumsy

Starseed - Steve did a cool extended intro for this. Sort of middle eastern citar sounding solo. Was really good. The band said they wanted to implement that in the original record, but didn't feel like they could do it justice. I guess having steve allows them to explore those technical influences more.

Bush and Live sounded like they haven't aged since 1994.

They've been purposely going on early to get one more song in. Glad you enjoyed the show!

Setlist from Los Angeles, one unexpected change compared to the tour so far:

Drop Me in the Water
Innocent
Maps
Superman’s Dead
Somewhere Out There
Clumsy
Starseed

Good performance overall.

Glad to hear Live still brings it. I've never seen Bush live, but Machinehead is on my personal "Get effin' PUMPED" playlist, which I used to listen to before soccer games and these days keeps me motivated while doing yard work.

That being said, can anyone tell me about when in the set Bush performs Machinehead?

My wife and I have to drive back to Savannah after the show as I have an 8am meeting Monday morning and am debating on skipping out after Live wraps up.

Bush is amazing live. I've seen them 3 times, and Gavin Rossdale performing as a solo artist once, and they are always great. It looks like, based on setlists, Machinehead is opening their set on this leg of the tour.

They played the Maps cover at all the 3 shows I caught. I'm surprised that they would play someone else's song when they are only granted enough time to play 5-6 songs. I thought surely they would choose another really popular song of theirs from the 90's based on the crowd demographic and seeing as they have several to choose from.

Wish they would have played Naveed instead of Maps. I thought that was a really weird choice! :Johnathan:

Also wanted to mention that opening on this tour is probably a wise business decision, assuming they weren't an option for headlining. Based on the crowds, I've heard a lot of good comments after OLP performed. A lot of people sounded impressed and surprised at how good OLP was. I think they are winning over a lot of new fans during this tour.
