okay, before i start, i KNOW there is a thread out there already about this, pretty sure. i think maybe jim started it? i don't know, maybe i just made that up, but don't hate on me because i seriously looked for it. anyway ... there is a trailer now up on yahoo.com and ... i just don't know what to think. i mean, i didn't instantly love it, but i didn't hate it either. the first one is a classic, but i thought johnny depp and tim burton would do a weird interpretation of it so i was excited. anyway, watch it and say what you think of it so far. all i could think throughout the whole thing was holy shit i hate johnny depp's hair in this movie. i don't know, it might ruin the whole thing for me. anyway, http://movies.yahoo.com/movies/feature/ ... ctory.html

Hmm.. I don't know quite what to think either.
I think it was the song in the background. That was just... weird and annoying.

That's the point. The song was (I assume) from a commerical for Willy Wonka chocolate. It's supposed to be weird and annoying.

from that trailior it kinda looks like a remake, unless charlie is now the owner giving it away.

Well, they are both based on the same book.
This one's just staying truer to the book.
I liked one headline I saw...
"Burton to make 'unsweetened' Chocolate "

Yeah, I suppose. It gave it more of a childish quality, which was probably also somewhat intentional... but... I didn't like it. *shrug*
The hair is bugging me too, heh. Johnny's so pretty and the hair makes him look practically female.
Still excited though.
