X-MEN

Post by ihatethunderbay »

So... who here's an X-Men fan? I'm talking the old (good) cartoon... not all this wussy 'evolution' crap..

I have all 5 seasons burned to CDs (christmas gift from my brother) and I'm on season 3 right now. Mucho cool.

So:

Colossus = teh awesome
Omega Red = teh cool
Wolverine = teh badass

i'm so hardcore old X-men cartoon fan. That show was so much better, and i don't mean just because it's my generation. The stories were so much better done. And they actually follow real x-men history from the comics. Unlike the fucked up new x-men that follows the movies story, which is a disgrace to all x-men fans. Christ Rogue CAN FLY! Her mom is Mystique! Storm isn't a teacher! Hell the whole god damn plot and characters were a sad mutation of the true stories.

............My dad used to collect comics........he has 1000 marvel comics....including every X-Men comic from the beginning up untill they turned all new age.......i've read them all..........they're in my closet..........i'm a under cover comic geek.. :(

the weird thing is i wouldn't consider either myself or my dad to be those weird comic types, he just grew up on a farm without tv so he collected them. And if you read them the stories are actually very very good. Way better then that piece of shit known as DC Comics, Superman can eat my ass, how boring is that! He's invincible, and even if he does fuck up he can turn back time...BOOOOORINGGGG!

but yeah......X-men are cool :oops:

yeah they pulled it off the best, but i don't understand why they couldn't have just used the proper character plots and powers. Why did they have to change everything?

Dude, you do know that Rogue stole her flying powers from Marvel Girl and put her into a coma right? They could still easily incorporate that into the story for the films.

As for evolution sucking, I disagree, I also have all the original X-men cartoons, which I favourite, but I've been an X-men fan all my life and there's nothing wrong with the movies or the new series which follows a similar storyline.

pfft of course i knew that, it was when Mis. Marvel was part of the avengers and Rouge was working for Mystique. She still retains part of Miss. Marvells memories and it torments her. duh......

easily, they wrecked all the characters, they already had way better stories and histories, why would they go and fuck with that? Besides between all the saturday morning kids who watched the Cartoon, and the tons of x-men comic fans (its the most succesful comic out). They could have just used the real plot.

Oh yeah and why do they make her look all defensless in the movie? She's fucking stronger then anyone in the x-men! She goes toe to toe with Juggernaut!

I used to love watching the old cartoon too, but not many cartoons are good now anyways. Phoenix was my favorite character, I liked Jean Grey but she always was such a wuss. The lack of Gambit also disturbs me too, I was disappointed he wasn't in the first one actually but there are so many characters that it's probably hard to get years of storyline in so quickly and it has to appeal to the masses so the real fans kind of get pissed off about it. I haven't read the comics but I've seen enough of the older cartoon to know how some things are supposed to go.

I disagree with the badassness of Wolverine, he's probably the best part of the movies, like in the second one where he stabe through the guys chest and pins him up against the fridge.

I mean, they're making him as badass as possible without upping the rating of the film. Canada's film ratings aren't as strict, so they could get away with adding more Wolverine Brutality and not upping the rating in Canada, well in most provinces anyway...

ATTENTION X-MEN FANS!

I am currently in the process of getting all the X-Men eps I have into folders to share on the hub. They'll be in the folder X-Men (duh) and organised by season. Only problem is I don't know if the phoenix saga episodes will work, but I'll try.

Anyway, I should have season one today.

w00t!
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.
