Problem with that is that it also blocks intentional pop-ups, which can be a bitch.

I think there may be a better one than the one I linked to where you are able to configure what pop ups are allowed...

Does that block intentional pop-ups too?
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

Have you tried ad-aware? It might get rid of any adware that might be highlighting and linking specific texts...

Yeah google toolbar is fucking awesome. I've had it for less than a month and its blocked 497 so far. Anyways, if there are ever any sites that have non-ad related popups, just hold "ctrl" and it'll show.
Big thumbs up for the people at Google, they transferred the greatness of their search engine into a classy-ass pop-up blocker/toolbar.
