Question...

Post by ArlieKoz13 »

I'm 17, I've had my license for a tad bit over a year, so can I drive over the Canadian border by myself? Or do I have to be 18?

You need a birth certificate?

When I drove arcoss, the only thing that the border cop asked me was where I was going, where I was from and how long I was staying.

going from detroit to windsor you need your birth certificate, unless the guy working doesn't really care, then you don't.

Yeah, you need a birth certificate. You will sometimes get someone who will let you in to Canada with nothing at all but a drivers license and other times you will get someone who wants a certificate

ya since 9/11 they've been asking for your birth certificate... even then I've gotten over without it, it just depends on your reasoning for being in the country. Obviously a bunch of kids going to a hockey game aren't terrorists

that's stupid... the same goes here though that the guards are easier on the Canadian side. If you go through the Fort Erie/Buffalo toll go through the toll that says the person is bi-lingual. They'll be Canadian and easier on you.
