Where can I get this for free? I've got some artistic ideas, but Corel Photo Paint [puke] just can't give me what I need...

Search Kazaa. D/l it and run it though a virus thing. It should work. Then download the adobe serial generator and you'll get the password to get in. Then you'll have it.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

Yeah I downloaded it from kazaa and have no idea how to use it. Well, I have some idea b/c I had the free trial a while ago but I didn't have enough time to figure stuff out. I'm looking online for tutorials but am not having much luck. All the ones I've found are for more advanced users.

Expirament, expirament, expirament.

Try out all the tools, all the filters, all the brushes. Get a good handle on it. I caught on fast but it might take a little while..

I don't think tutorials help very much. It's easier to just jump in and figure shit out for yourself.

The main problem that came up right away for me is that I don't understand the layering. Does every object get its own layer? Why is it that layers are "not directly editable"?

Say that you found a picture online and wanna colour it... You start colouring it, and you reealize that it's much easier to put every colour/aspect of the picture on a different layer so you can edit them in parts instead of on one big layer. This way if you mess up, you can delete ONE aspect without wrecking everything you did.

Some layers are not directly editable, like the background layer. All you have to do is make a copy of it and delete the original.

If you're making a collage wallpaper, you can put all your images on different layers so you can easily move one image without ruining your work.

Basically, it just allows you to move different aspects individually.

I'll work with it for a while...

Layers is what makes Photoshop great, lol.

All the other programs now use layers but I don't think they pull it off quite as well.

I think I've got it figured out.

Here's a test one. I saved it at a pretty low quality, hence the blurredness.

Try to make the background Steve a little more opaque. He shows right though the foreground Steve. Besides that, it's damn good.
