Hmm, now what could "coolness" be?

In order to define coolness you must first define the origional word of "cool".

cool ( P ) Pronunciation Key (kl)
adj. cool·er, cool·est
Neither warm nor very cold; moderately cold: fresh, cool water; a cool autumn evening.
Giving or suggesting relief from heat: a cool breeze; a cool blouse.
Marked by calm self-control: a cool negotiator.
Marked by indifference, disdain, or dislike; unfriendly or unresponsive: a cool greeting; was cool to the idea of higher taxes.
Of, relating to, or characteristic of colors, such as blue and green, that produce the impression of coolness.
Slang.
Excellent; first-rate: has a cool sports car; had a cool time at the party.
Acceptable; satisfactory: It's cool if you don't want to talk about it.
Slang. Entire; full: worth a cool million.

Then you could move on to a more complicated version of that word...coolness

Coolness

\Cool"ness\, n. 1. The state of being cool; a moderate degree of cold; a moderate degree, or a want, of passion; want of ardor, zeal, or affection; calmness.

Coolness

n 1: calm and unruffled self-assurance; "he performed with all the coolness of a veteran" [syn: imperturbability, imperturbableness, phlegm] 2: the property of being moderately cold; "the chilliness of early morning" [syn: chilliness] 3: fearless self-possession in the face of danger [syn: nervelessness] 4: a lack of passion or enthusiasm [syn: coldness, frigidity]
