Is anyone here Buddhist because I wish to convert from being christian to buddhist. any help would be great. thanks

i changed, and no i dont wanna be buddhiist because it is cool i wanna be it cause i dont beleve in the catholic church anymore

OK Josh, what makes you want to be Buddhist? What attracts you to that religion? Don't change to a different religion because you don't like one. Give up on religion for a while, grow up a little, and then when you're mature enough, make a decision on the church of your choice. Don't go making some ill-advised decision because Buddism seems cool.

i havent realy been in any religeon for about 3 years and i desid buddhis becaus it is more interesting than anyother and i dont have to go to church every sunday

Dont choose a religion because you don't have to go to church. Study the religion before you jump into it. You would want to know what you believe in before you pledge your belief to it. I mean, it's only common sense.

Anyways, I think part of the Buddhist entrance exam is learning how to spell at one point in your life, or learn how to click a little button called "spell check." Look into it.

you should read this book, Siddhartha, by herman hesse. its a story about this guy named siddhartha who basically paralells the buddha's life (inadvertently) before finding peace on his own instead of from following monk leaders. he actually meets and talks with the buddha too. its a good book, i recommend it.

also, you may want to check out http://www.beliefnet.com and take this test called the belief-o-matic. a lot of the questions are hard to answer and wont totally apply but at the end it gives you a list of religions which best fit your personal belief system. i would check out the options. [/url]

well theres nothing wrong with trying new and different things to see what sparks your interest and what you can spiritually connect with, especially as a teenager. just be careful not to shut your eyes to things that you dont agree with or to other religions that might be better suited for you. also, theres nothing to say that you have to belong to an organized religion. whatever floats your boat
