huh?

i'm so confused!

saul and them aren't human, they're cylons. probably made by the original settlers of earth, possibly as skin jobs from the start. they then went on to make their own versions of skin jobs

Well, from what Anders was saying, I picked up that Saul and them were originally human and reinvented the ability to download and ressurect.

no man, they were part of the original 13th colony that was all cylon, and they rediscovered resurrection because it had become obsolete due to procreation. how could they download and resurrect if they weren't cylon? humans can't because, well, they're not machines

so, what's the consensus? tyrol's an idiot (though still very lovable), boomer's a manipulative psychopath, and starbuck is half cylon? yeah

okay, so:

-out of the original thirteen tribes, one was a cylon tribe. where they came from or who made them, we don't know. they fought and split with the other 12 tribes and went back to earth.
-upon returning to earth, they reinhabited it and lived there for a long time. during this time, because they could procreate, they forgot about resurrection.
-then, apparently there was a nuclear war and the entire colony got wiped out.
-forseeing the destruction, however, five of them, brilliant scientists, rediscovered/reinvented ressurection technology. after dying in the war, they resurrected in a hub orbiting earth.
-the final/original five then decided to go back to the 12 colonies, living on caprica, to warn them about mistreatment of their cylons.
-for travel purposes, however, the five didn't have ftl technology, so they weren't able to jump instantaneously. they had to travel at sub-light speed, which caused a nearly 2,000 year delay for them to get to caprica.
-upon getting there, they discovered that the 12 colonies were already at war with their cylons, the centurions, who were trying to evolve.
-the final five offered to upgrade the centurions to human models if they agreed to call a truce in the war. the centurions agreed, and the war ended for forty years
-the final five then created the eight human-centurion models.
-of these models, number one aka cavill, was bitter about the "upgrade", complete with human emotions and feelings. he was also very jealous of the number seven model, daniel, whom ellen was very fond of. so he axed the entire line of daniels.
-cavill also killed the final five and reprogrammed them so they would have no memory of themselves when they resurrected. he then sent them to live among the humans on caprica to "punish" them.
-the centurions then launched another attack on caprica, and that's when the series starts.

i think that's everything. i hope it cleared stuff up

I'm glad that the Galactica is going to go out in a blaze of glory instead of be abandoned and left adrift.
