Yzerman was an amazing player.
I will never in my life forget staying up late watching a fuzzy CBC nodding off to sleep, fighting myself to stay awake through 4 straight periods of a 0-0 game 7.
Then just a little more than a minute in double OT ...
One of many great memories I will have of Steve.
I was horrified when I first saw him go gown with that puck to the face in Calgary.
Even with his face bruised and bloddied and probably worried at that point if he'd ever regain sight in his eye again he wanted just to be at the next game for his team.
Sticking with the Wings in his early years, becomming a superstar, playing through excruciating pain and still out playing the best players on the ice, there can be no better definition of the word leadership.
For these reasons and countless many more is why Steve Yzerman will always be known as The CAPTAIN.
