you'll have to convert the file into a ".vob" and then burn it. Most video converters can do that for you :)

it took me forever to figure it out. if you want, i can give you a list of good DVD burning software.

I have a bunch Nero does pretty good, my favourite is DVD Decryptor. You can get it for free here: http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/dvddec.htm

If you're going to rip an actual DVD and then burn it, use a program called "DVD Shrink" first.

Hmm....I feel slightly evil for telling you that last part

The absolute most helpful site on making any kind of dvd or doing anything with video is www.videohelp.com . You'll find lots of tutorials, downloads, and info there. Before you burn the videos to dvd, you need to make sure they are dvd compliant (mpeg 2, 720x480 resolution). If you have a low resolution file, you'll need to reencode it. You will gain some pixelation and lose some quality by doing this. Authoring the dvd can be as simple or as complicated as you like. Some really easy basic dvd programs include Roxio Easy DVD creator, and Tmpgenc DVD Author 1.5. For intermediate to advanced authoring you can use Sony DVD Architect, DVD Lab Pro, or Adobe Encore DVD. I've been using Encore for about a year now. It's tough to learn at first, but after you figure it out, the possibilities are really only limited to your mind. You can use other Adobe programs with it to make some really great DVD's.

?????? You're crazy. You can get blank DVD's for very cheap now. Just have to look in the right places.

DVD's are the way to go! I'm completely replacing my data CD's with DVD's.

my best friend used to burn all of her music videos on to normal cds. It was annoying though, because you'd have to press a button every now and then to keep the dvd player from turning on the screen saver.
