My picks ...

Wings v. Preds
Wings and Preds saw plenty of each other during the season so this could go to 6. Assuming Hasek is on his game the Wings offense should prevail

Ducks v. Stars
Ducks will play a physical game as always.
It's going to depend on how the refs call the game.
If the Stars can take advantage of the PP then they have a good chance.

Sharks v. Flames
Sharks are just as physical as the Ducks but w/ Nabokov being the X factor here.
Kiprusoff has the chance to come up big here as well but I think the Flames will be over matched.
Sharks in 5

Wild v. Avs
Can't claim to know too much about MN. Backstrom is a solid goalie but I'm going to go with the Avs here with on the leadership of Joe Sackic. That and I'd love to see another Wings / Avs blood on the ice playoff matchup.

In the East the Habs have come on strong and I expect them to continue their push over the Bruins.

Devils v. Rangers
I expect Brodeur to be Brodeur in this match up.
Devils in 6

Pens v. Sens
All the attention will be on the Penguins. All the fanfare directed towards Crosby, but the win will come from the stick of Malkin. The Sens backed into the playoffs. Unless some unknowns step up I don't see it happening for them. Pens in 5

Caps V. Flyers
If the Flyers are able to keep Ovechkin under wraps and Biron can stand on his head they might make a series out of it. If not then Caps in 5

Here's hoping for a memorable playoff season filled with quadruple overtime thrillers!

psssssst.. its sakic.
burnaby joe is one of my fave players all time, even when he played for the damn nordiques (aka the nodicks) even tho they were provincial rivals.

as for predictions.. this is the one year where the teams on the ice and the # in the standings mean nothing. as i said to doc, the sens scare me. a lot. if darth gerber or ray emery get hot and start playing like theyre capable of while alfie and fish are out, the team has more than enough offense to pull it out with vermette, spezz, heater and stillman with more than capable offensive production from the likes of foligno, bass, neil and a few others as well.. theyre defence is decent (assuming commodore plays at the level he did with the flames/canes in previous playoffs) and its not like their headcoach doesnt know anything (bryan murray is first or second all time amongst active coaches in playoff wins).. the team on paper can pull it off, so i wouldnt write them off just yet..

plus throw in the fact theyre facing marc andre fleury. MAF.. the same guy who lost team canada the gold medal by shooting the puck off of dion phanuef's leg into his own net, late in the third. the guy who took stacked teams in the Q to where? oh yeah.. the golf course.
that team canada in question btw? the BEST EVER ASSEMBLED. BAR NONE. crosby, patrice bergeron, jeff carter, nigel dawes, braydon coburn and dion phaneuf on D amongst many, many others and they lost. why? MAF dropped the ball big time in the big game.. until he does what peyton manning did 2 years ago, he'll be considered a choker

the habs have a rookie goaltender backed up by another young goaltender who's played 18 games in the nhl. im a habs fan through and through but they could either go really far or they could flame out in spectacular fashion.

brodeur sucked last year in the playoffs. mind you he's held at such a high standard that his "sucking" is most other goalies "great" but he still sucked ass. the lightning gave him fits. the fucking lightning. the same lightning that are going to replace brad richards with steve stamkos (if feaster has a brain at all at least)

the flames are built for playoff hockey. iggy + nolan up front can hit and play physical hockey while being able to pot goals. iggy can carry his team on his back, as hes done it before. a well timed dion phanuef hit or two and the sharks depth could become non-existent , aucoin, sarich, vandermeer are all big, strong and can play physical d (save for sarich but he wont back down per se either).

i hate both the ducks and the sars so i dont care who wins that one
although i'd love to see mike ribiero get plastered by pronger who then gets suspended for the rest of the playoffs + 20 games next year for being an ugly fucktard

and finally.. go preds go.
go fuck yourself.
