Did you all hear about Randall Simon, the Pittsburgh Pirate that decided it was appropriate to swat the Miliwaukee Brewers mascot with a bat?

I'm horrified......that's completely rediculous. Baseball players and their FREAKING EGOS are outta control.

Yeah, Simon payed like a 400-something dollar fine for the misdemeanor, I think that was on behalf of the city though.

And that they'll never catch me at any game the Pirates play because I'm afraid for my own life

OK everyone in this thread. Take your pants up and insert your hand up your anus, because you need to pull the sticks out of your ass.

Now that it's out of the way, here's my point of view on the situation. It was a joke. Randall Simon said it was a joke. The Pirates Organization said it was a joke. The girl that fell over (who is surprisingly attractive) said it was a joke. The Polish sausage that fell over knew it was a joke. If everyone that was involved thinks it was a joke, then who the hell are we to say otherwise? Are we honestly supposed to believe that Randall Simon was out to hurt a 19 year old girl? Give me a break.

And his apology was more than satisfactory. He called the girl to apologize to her, and she said it was alright, seeing that he hit the foam part of the costume that was two feet above her head. He gave her the bat that he hit her with and autographed it just like she asked. Randall Simon is not a bad guy.

That's the media for you though. Their basketball darling Kobe Bryant supposedly raped a girl, so what does the media do? They take an inconsequental happening in a meaningless baseball game and blow it up to such a big deal so it can overshadow Kobe "I rape white girls" Bryant. Way to go!

And above that, the jackass spokesman for the Brewers said it was the worst thing to ever happen to baseball. A guy hit foam with a bat, let's lynch him! Fuck, so many fucked up things have happened in all sports, including baseball, and he plays this off as an atrocity. If you're a goddamn mascot, you have to expect that people will do things to harass you, because you're the lowest of low on the food chain of life. You're down there with cannibals and rapists (again, it's Kobe Bryant territory!) People in the crowd throw shit at you, and that is alright. In other sports, players kick the living shit out of you for fun. But when it's the summer and people are reaching for a news story, they forcefeed this tripe down your throats and actually trick you into believing this is some horrid happening of the world. Stupid. Just fucking stupid.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

but you see, if another person in that costume this might be alot bigger event. alot of people don't like to be fucked around with, especially when your the butt of a joke in front of 20,000+. and when the leauge/the team/or the individual gets sued for millions of dollars, then it's not a joke and no one's laughing then.

Maybe people should stop being so damn anal and just let things be what they are. Come on, why would a baseball player go out of his way to intentionally hurt someone in a costume? Look at sports, mascots always get the shit kicked out of them, and it's alright. Now it's some huge deal, and no one can tell me what's so different from Randall Simon tapping a bat against foam from Charles Barkley kicking the shit out of the Nuggets mascot every single time they played? I'd be more pissed off at Barkley, because he punches, kicks, and goes for the testicles, but no one ever did anything to him.

a bat is a blunt object, it can damage alot worse then a few punches. any smooth talkin lawyer will tell you they would go after this guy for assult with a deadly weapon.

Come walk your ass by me in a big 'ol weiner suit and tell me if ya like getting cracked by my Louisville. Of course the freakin jackass and his organization are gonna say "haha, wasn't that hallarious" because they don't wanna feel pressure from Selig and his "corn cob crew". While i honestly think he deserves suspension and a fine, i guess its at least a plus that the girl looked at it positively.

BTW.....don't completely label Kobe until we know the entire truth. I've seen delerious women before. They say "my god, so and so with an ASSLOAD of money just flirted with me, what a story this could be.....I can be rich". It can definitely make people wonder.

There's a difference between me putting on the uniform and you taking a crack at my back and what happened to the girl. Randall Simon clearly did not take a full swing, a half swing, or even a quarter swing. He tapped the girl. And he didn't hit her in the back, he hit her two feet above her head in a bunch of padding foam. The only reason she fell over is that the costume is top-heavy and hard to balance in the first place. That tap made the head lean forward, making her fall down. You morons keep playing it out to be as if the guy went out there, ripped her costume off, beat the shit out of her with a bat, then threw a brick at her head. If the girl involved sees nothing serious out of this, why the hell should you?
