Re: General OLP News

Raine was on a podcast yesterday as well. He said Stop Making a stupid People Famous will be the first single from SM2 and would be out just before Christmas. Album to follow early in the new year. Also, he said he truly believes there is some of OLP’s best work ever on it.

Re: Canadian Tour March 2018

Yes the slow down mid set was good. Not a huge fan of somewhere out there. Wish they would have played something else instead.

Re: Canadian Tour March 2018

I was at the Hamilton show last night. My 44th OLP show. Another great performance. The highlight of the night for sure was both bands coming out to play Hello Time Bomb.

Re: Somethingness Volumes 1 and 2

As soon as I mention it they made it official. Update on pledge music. Feb 23 is the release date. Raine played a clip of Missing Pieces. It's interesting. Anyone else hear it?

Re: Somethingness Volumes 1 and 2

Wow. Still no new music. Yesterday was the 3rd Monday when raine said it would be out. But I guess after 20 years as a fan I should be used to this by now. They should really stop publicly stating release information if they aren't actually certain. Shouldn't the music be out before the tour to help ...

Re: Somethingness Volumes 1 and 2

Also, the pledge fulfillment date changed from October 6 to December 15. Not a good sign. But OLP has never come close to a public time frame they set. So I'm not surprised. Can't waiting to hear the new stuff.

Re: General OLP News

So a little birdie told me something a couple weeks ago and it looks like tonight it will come true. Raine is performing a benefit show in Toronto tonight with I Mother Earth featuring Edwin. They are set to make a major announcement at the show tonight. Sources say its joint tour with OLP and IME ...

Re: Why does Raine Maida sing like he is asleep?

Mike had long term goals 5-10 years.

The rest of the band has long term goals "How much cash will we make off this record promoted single?" and "What coffee shop are we meeting at next week to discuss the direction of the band with Sonys Head Figure."

Did Mike tell you that? Did he describe his ...

Well whatever.

And this new sound you talk about, is not new at all. Its the same old stuff. You call it a new sound, to me its the same old stuff......

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the same old stuff is what you have been wanting for the past decade. You don't like the progression of the music ...

clearly the band had long term goals much different than Mike. Hence the split.

Re: Your least favorite Raine singing style.

I did recognise Steve on the cover of Gravity, but I just didn't know he was a new member, I will admit I did not think he looked like he fitted in with the band.

You see, the members aren't necessarily the problem - its the music, which is what I was interested in - which is why I didn't realise ...
